Winter   Spring Summer Fall

Most schools are dusty. Windows are now closed to keep the cold air out. This means that the indoor air pollution, a mixture of airway irritants such as chalk, dust, craft supplies, vapors or fumes, pet dander, scented personal items and harsh cleaners create a potential health hazard for those with asthma and allergies. What can you do? Communicate your concerns to the school principal as well as the Parent Teachers Association. Encourage “Asthma Friendly” policies. Ensure that your child’s asthma is symptom free and that his/her medication is readily available at all times.
