The workplace environment is changing as moulds and pollen are transported into the buildings on our hair, clothing and footwear. It is a good idea to keep windows shut during this mould and hay-fever season. For those with asthma, hay-fever and allergy to moulds, this can be a very challenging time. Again, discourage scented personal products in the workplace as well as harsh chemical cleaners. Keep your medications handy and follow your written Asthma Action Plan when your symptoms change. Hand washing is a very effective and should be done frequently to avoid catching a cold or the flu. Plan to get your flu shot in late October or early November.
