It is best to keep windows and doors closed when pollen counts are high and when the Air Quality Index is poor such as during a Smog Warning.

Pesticides have been known to trigger asthma, so if they are used on the surrounding landscape, avoid walking on or near those areas.

Humidity levels should be adjusted by using air conditioning and dehumidifiers. Remember that excessive cooling with air conditioning can aggravate asthma symptoms as well.

If your asthma or allergies are worse when you are in the workplace, speak to your Occupational Health Department or your physician about your symptoms.
